High Field Intensive Dry Magnetic Separators

High Field Intensive Dry Magnetic Separators have a magnetic field around 18000 Gauss. The magnetic field is created by means of electromagnet coils. The feed size of the separators is -3 + 0.1 mm. The biggest drawback of High Field Intensity Dry Magnetic Separators is that they have to consume large amounts of energy to produce high field intensities. In addition, grains below 0.1 mm are not successful in separating.

Usage areas

Cross-band, rotary-disc high-field-strength dry magnetic separators have been used for many years in various industries. However, with the development of rare earth permanent high-field magnetic separators, the use of these separators decreased and disappeared. In the last 30 years, magnetic separators made of high field-strength rare earths have been widely used for the enrichment of iron ores with weak magnetic properties and for the removal of magnetic impurities in industrial raw materials. The most preferred type is the RE type Permroll magnetic separator.

RE-type Permroll Magnetic Separator

The high field strength RE type Permroll magnetic separator has a wide roll rotation range from 40 rpm to 500 rpm. In the case of separation of very strong magnetic particles, the roll rotation speed can be increased up to 700 rpm. Permroll magnetic separators of type RE with a magnetic field strength of up to 21 000 Gauss range in size from 50-0,075 mm. The capacity of a single device can reach up to 10 tons per hour.

Usage areas

The Permroll magnetic separator with high field strength RE type is used for the separation of serpentine and ferrous minerals from magnesite. Another separator used in the enrichment of magnesite, silicon carbide, corendoma and some refractory materials is the GTML separator.

The GTML, a high-field-strength dry magnetic separator, is generated by electric current with a magnetic field of 15000 Gauss. The magnetic field around the iron rings can be easily controlled. Feeding in sizes ranging from 12 mm to 0.5 mm. The capacity of the GTML separator ranges from 0.7 to 2.4 t / s.

Another type of dry separator is Carpco, which is widely used before the development of RE-type magnetic separators. Carpco is a dry magnetic separator with electro magnet. Apart from Carpco, there is also a Permos separator. Permos is a medium field heavy dry magnetic separator. Inspired by the classical wet drum separator, the Permos separator has a drum diameter ranging from 0.6 meters to 3 meters. The magnet in its structure consists of neodymium, iron and boron (Nd-Fe-B) elements. Permos separators with magnetic field strengths of 6000 Gauss are separators with capacities up to 50 t / s depending on the increase in drum diameter.
